IDAHO CALL (Coast)
HEARTACHES
IT’S TOO LATE NOW (sic)
YOU DON’T CARE WHAT HAPPENS TO ME
DARLIN’, WHAT MORE CAN I DO

With the spirit of the outdoors in his singing pipes, Idado Call, supported by Boots Faye and instrumentally by the strings and accordion of the Sun Valley Cowboys, makes each of his four sides count. Joined by Miss Boots, it is smooth duetting for the love that brough only HEARTACHES. In the same lyrical spirit, sings alone that he will try to forget his sweetheart and let her be free because YOU DON’T CARE WHAT HAPPENS TO ME. Most effective is the duetting for Gene Autry’s WHAT MORE CAN I DO, a pretty melody sung plaintively. Companion piece calls on Miss Boots to sol for IT’S TOO LATE TO SAY YOU’RE SORRY, giving out with a heavy nasal tang. All four sides spin at a lively rhythmic pace, with the phno ops sure of a winner in DARLIN’, WHAT MORE CAN I DO.

IDAHO CALL AND HIS SUN VALLEY COWBOYS (Coast 2022)
IF IT’S WRONG TO LOVE YOU
YOU CAN’T BREAK MY HEART

With a plaintive note in his voice, Idaho Call sings true in these cowboy chants. IF IT’S WRONG… gets plenty of feeling, with moderate-paced fiddles and twangy guitars pitching in. For contrast’s sake YOU CAN’T BREAK MY HEART takes a snappy spin to the spirited instrumental support of the Sun Valley Cowboys. Should jingle in locations that go for prairie plaints.

IDAHO CALL (Coast 223)
I’LL STEP ASIDE
I’M TIRED OF LIVING A LIE

Woe-wailing in a righteous Western manner, Idaho Call put his pipes to pleasing use in this twin-spinner. Sun Valley Cowboys’ accordion, twangy guitars and fiddle scapping lend an authentic assist, to the sagebrush singer. Johnny Boyd’s (sic) STEP ASIDE takes preferred play. STEP could keep phono fans at outdoor locations stepping up for replays.

IDAHO CALL WITH BOOTS FAYE (Coast 230, 232)
YOU CAN’T BREAK THE CHAINS OF LOVE
JUST HANGIN’ ON
I’LL KEEP ON LOVING YOU
I CAN’T FOOL MY HEART

Idaho Call’s sincerity and easy singing style, makes his Western warblings register well with the folk fan’s ear as he pleads YOU CAN’T BREAK THE CHAINS OF LOVE. Holding a moderate beat for the topside, fiddles and guitars work up toe-tempting rhythm for his voicing of JUST HANGIN’ ON. Idaho Call and company lend instrumental support to Boots Faye as she puts a tear in her pipes to confess I CAN’T FOOL MY HEART. There’s a snappy beat for her version  of I’LL KEEP ON LOVING YOU. Gal puts songs across in true Western fashion with occasional flat notes easy to overlook. Country phonos will find brighting spinning here.
